Some Mysterious Airplane Disappearances in Aviation History.

Hi Folks,

It's sad when events like this happens, and in our case, the mysterious disappearance of MAS flight MH 370. As an avid flying enthusiast, it breaks my heart knowing that even with the latest tech in aviation and communications, we are still in a blank as to the whereabouts of MH 370. My heart is with the family and friends of the passengers and crew. I know how hard it is to have no news or the whereabouts of your love ones, and having to wait this long is really unbearable for most of them.

It's time like this that we must come together to pray and hope that everything will be turn out right. I know its more than a week now, but we musn't lose hope, for if there's a will, there's a way. We need to keep on searching and hope that the plane has landed safely in some remote area.

The disappearance of MAS Flight MH370 has captured the attention of millions around the world as the search for the airplane and its passengers and crew continues. What happened to the flight’s 239 passengers and crew after the plane left Kuala Lumpur on Saturday? It is becoming an increasingly desperate question as the days pass.

I and my friends here at Batu Pahat Microlight Flying club wish that all the passengers & crew of flight MH 370 is O.K. and well. We are all praying for you and Please stay strong and do come back soon.

Since the advent of Flight, the airplane has in history,  play a very important role in our life. We travel more often now due mainly to the number of budget airlines like Air Asia. What once was a luxury is now within the reach of most of us. The world since has become smaller and traveling  overseas is a breeze now.

But it’s hardly the first mystery of its kind. While it’s extremely rare that a flight simply vanishes with barely a trace, aviation history has seen its fair share of enigmatic disappearances and flights that literally flew off the radar. Here are a few unsolved airplane mysteries that I feel are significant in aviation history, which have kept investigators clueless for years.

( 1 ) On top of my list and one that kept me intrigue for years was the flight of Emelia Earhart across the pacific in 1937. Her twin-engine monoplane Electra, vanished without a trace over the pacific ocean. After a multi-million search effort , the plane till today was never found. She was of course a pioneer and an ace pilot. That's exactly 77 years ago this year.

( 2 ) Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 2501 was a DC-4 Propliner operating its daily transcontinental service between New York City and Seattle when it disappeared on the night of June 23, 1950. The flight was carrying 55 passengers and three crew members; the loss of all 58 on board made it the deadliest commercial airliner accident in American history in its time. That's 64 years ago and the wreckage has yet to be found till today.

( 3 ) Flying Tiger Line Flight 739: A U.S. military flight left Guam in 1962 with more 90 personnel headed for the Philippines, but it never arrived. The pilots never issued a distress call, and 1,300 people involved in the U.S. military search never found any trace of wreckage. A Liberian tanker ship’s crew claim to have seen an “intensely luminous” light in the sky at the approximate time of the flight, but the U.S. Civil Aeronautics board ruled it was “unable to determine the probable cause of the incident.”

( 4 ) South American Airways: It took more than 50 years to find any trace of the 11 people aboard a 1947 flight that disappeared in the Andes Mountains. A pair of Argentinian rock climbers discovered engine wreckage in the Andes in 1998, and an army expedition later found human remains as well. Some say the plane caused an avalanche when it crashed into Mount Tupangato and was buried in the snow.

Finally, its the infamous '' Bermuda '' triangle that sees not only planes but ships and boats seemingly disappear without a trace. But none more famous than the disappearance of not one but '' Five '' fighter planes in an area now known as the '' Bermuda Triangle ''.

( 5 ) Bermuda Triangle: A series of disappearances over the so-called “Devil’s Triangle,” the vast expanse of ocean between Florida, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda has given the region an unshakeable notoriety. Two British South American Airways passenger jets disappeared in the region in 1948 and 1949, and more than 51 people were lost on the two flights and never found. In 1945, five American bombers ran a training mission over the area and were never recovered; the aircraft charged with finding the men deployed with a 13-man crew, and also vanished.

Recently I have been ask on my opinion as to what happen to flight MH 370. In my view, after watching the satellite map of the path of last few ''waypoint '' ( Aviation Marking Points ), I believe without a doubt that it was intentional. It's a deliberate action by a person or persons to fly low and to avoid the beam from the tracking radar. Only a qualified pilot or someone with ample aviation knowledge could do this. The last waypoint detected by the U.S. satellite was at '' Gival '' and heading towards '' Ingrex ''. The other reason for all this might be a total electrical failure, in which case the pilot has no way of knowing and control over the plane. As to the motives of it all, we can only hope for the best and pray that it isn't a take over as it was rumored to be in the latest news. Here's the satellite map of the flight path of the MH 370. Remember, its only my personal opinion and I can only pray and wish for the best outcome. Have a look at the map and you too be the judge.

This are the mysterious  cases, but there are also lots of flight in history that were miraculously found after a period of time with survivors found. But like millions of us here and around the world, our only wish is that it is still intact and has safely landed somewhere out there. Regardless of our believes and religion, please pray for flight MH 370 ... !!!

As always, I have always stress the importance of spending quality time with our love ones , family and friends. I know making ends meet is important, but what's the use of it all if you have no one to share it with ? So, treasure every moment with your family members now,  for tomorrow is promise to no one.

May Peace be with you all ... '' Hakuna Matata '' !!

Regards ..... Uncle James Moh.
